You can accept online payments for free in the sense that you need no monthly fee for the form: use a free form builder with a Payment block and your own Stripe account. Qwenvo takes a 0% platform fee. Stripe still charges its own processing fee on each payment, which no free tool can remove.
What 'free' really means here
- Free: the form, the Payment block, unlimited submissions (within fair use), confirmation emails, exports.
- Not free: Stripe's processing fee on each payment. Check Stripe's own pricing page for the rate in your country.
- Not covered: taxes, invoicing rules and refund policy. Those depend on where you and your customers are; ask an accountant.
Be wary of any tool that says payments are fee-free without saying who charges what. Money always costs something to move.
What you need before you start
- A Stripe account in your own name. Stripe handles identity checks, payouts and card processing.
- A clear product. What exactly is the customer buying, for how much, in which currency?
- A free Qwenvo account. No card, no trial.
Set up a payment form
- Click New form and name it after what you sell: 'Pay for the June workshop'.
- Add the details people need first: name, Email, and any options such as a ticket type.
- Type
/and choose Payment. Set the amount and currency, and connect your Stripe account when asked. - Add a Text block with your terms: what is included and your refund policy.
- Write a Thank-you page that confirms the payment and says what happens next.
- Turn on respondent email notifications so the buyer gets a message, and Self email notifications so you do.
- Publish and share the link, or embed it on your site.
A longer walk-through, with tips on amounts and currencies, is in the Stripe payment form guide. If the price depends on the buyer's choices, use calculated fields as shown in the quote calculator guide.
Test before you tell anyone
- Check Stripe's documentation for any test mode it offers, if you want a dry run with no real money.
- Do one real payment of a small amount to yourself if you can, then check it in Stripe's dashboard.
- Check that the answer appears in the Submissions table and that both emails arrive.
- Look at the form on a phone.
- Refund yourself in Stripe to be sure you know how.
What people sell with a payment form
- Event tickets and registration fees, with the conference registration template.
- Digital product preorders, with the digital product preorder template.
- Deposits for bookings, see how to create a booking form.
- Small orders, see how to create an order form.
- Donations or club fees, where the amount is fixed or chosen by the payer.
Mistakes to avoid
- Forgetting the fee in your price. Work out what you keep after Stripe's cut.
- Promising PayPal or local methods. Qwenvo supports Stripe only. Do not advertise anything else.
- No receipt or confirmation. Buyers want proof. Use the confirmation email and thank-you page.
- Vague refund terms. Write them down above the Payment block.
- Sharing the form before testing. One broken payment loses trust.
Honest limits: Stripe is the only provider, so if your buyers need PayPal or a method Stripe does not cover in your country, choose a builder with more processors; Jotform, for one, lists several on its own pricing page. And Qwenvo is not a subscription-billing or invoicing system.
Will this stay free? If paid plans are ever introduced, everything you already use stays available and you will be told well in advance. Today there is no plan to pick and no card on file.
Questions people ask
Does Qwenvo take a cut of my payments?
No. The platform fee is 0%. Stripe's own fee applies.
Can I accept payments without a website?
Yes. A published form has its own link that you can send in a message or an email. Add a custom domain if you want it on your own address.
Which currencies can I use?
Many. Which ones you can charge also depends on your Stripe account, so check there.
How does this compare with Tally?
Tally also takes no fee on top of Stripe. The difference is the features around the payment; see Qwenvo vs Tally.
Every feature, $0, no card.
