A better contact form than Google Forms, free and brandable

By the Qwenvo team · · 3 min read

A contact form on a business site should match the site, reach you fast and keep spam out. Qwenvo does all three for free: you control the design, you get an email or Slack alert on every message, and a Captcha block blocks junk. It takes about five minutes.

Why Google Forms is a weak fit for a contact page

Google Forms is free and works. But it has limited design and branding, so it looks like a Google form on your site, and respondents who attach a file must sign in with Google. A contact form is often a visitor's first impression, and that is the wrong place for a mismatch.

Build a contact form in six steps

  1. Create a free account and open the contact form template, or describe the form to the AI on the empty-form screen.
  2. Keep four fields: Short answer for name, Email, a Dropdown for the topic, and Long answer for the message. Each extra field lowers completion.
  3. Add a Captcha block at the end.
  4. Open Customize and set your colours, fonts, button style and logo. Switch off Qwenvo branding in Settings.
  5. In Settings, turn on email notifications to you and confirmation emails to the sender so they know the message arrived.
  6. Open Share and paste the Standard embed into a WordPress custom HTML block, a Webflow embed, a Framer embed or a Wix or Squarespace code block. See embedding a form.

Sort and route what arrives

Every submission can get an AI category, a priority, a sentiment, a short summary and a suggested reply, up to 10,000 a month. Add routing rules in the AI triage section of Settings. For example, send priority urgent to a Slack incoming webhook, send the category "sales" to your sales inbox, and keep the rest in the Submissions table. A rule can email up to five addresses.

If your inbox is the problem, read how AI form triage works.

Details that make the form feel professional

  • Your own address. Add a subdomain such as contact.yourcompany.com on the Domains page: create a CNAME at your DNS host, press Verify, then pick it on the Share tab. Read custom domains.
  • Redirect after sending to a thank-you page on your site.
  • Hidden fields can record which page the visitor was on.
  • Link preview sets the image, title and description shown when the link is shared.
  • Popup embed opens the form on top of the page, so visitors stay on your site.

Where Google Forms is still the better pick

If the contact form is for an internal team that already uses Google accounts, Google Forms is already there. Qwenvo has no built-in scheduling, so if you want visitors to book a call, embed Calendly with the Embed anything block. Qwenvo is hosted in the United States and launched in October 2026.

What to put in the confirmation email

The confirmation email is part of the contact form. People who get nothing back assume the message was lost and send it again. Keep yours short and honest:

  • Say that the message arrived.
  • Say when they can expect a reply, and only promise what your team can keep.
  • Tell them where to go if it is urgent, such as a phone number or a support page.
  • Sign it with a real name or team name, not a no-reply address.

Test the whole path yourself before you publish: fill in the form on a phone, check that the notification arrives, check the confirmation, and look at the row in the Submissions table. If you embedded the form, test it on the live page, not only on the share link.

Once the form is live, check it monthly. Read a handful of recent submissions, look at drop-off analytics for the field where people stop, and delete any question nobody needs. A contact form that stays short stays useful.

Questions people ask

How do I stop spam on a contact form?

Add the Captcha block, and use AI triage to flag junk by category so it does not reach your priority channels.

Can I get an email every time someone submits?

Yes. Turn on email notifications in the form's Settings drawer. You can also send the sender a confirmation email.

Does a free contact form need coding?

No. You paste an embed code into your site builder. For a support desk, try the support ticket form instead.
