For surveys, Qwenvo is a free alternative to Google Forms that does more with the answers. It has rating, scale, matrix and ranking blocks, shows NPS and averages in Insights, tracks where people drop off, and can sort open-ended replies by category and sentiment with AI.
What a good survey tool must do
Collecting answers is the easy half. The hard half is finishing the survey with a number you trust and a list of what to fix. A useful tool needs question types that suit the data, a way to see completion problems, and some help with free-text answers.
Question blocks for surveys
- Linear scale and Rating for satisfaction and NPS-style questions.
- Matrix to rate several items on the same scale in one grid.
- Ranking to make people put options in order, which reveals priorities that star ratings hide.
- Multiple choice, Checkboxes, Multi-select, Dropdown for categorical answers.
- Long answer for the why behind the score.
- Respondent's country and Hidden fields so you know where an answer came from without asking.
Run a customer survey in seven steps
- Sign up free, then pick a template: customer feedback, CSAT, NPS or market research.
- Cut it down. Delete every question you will not act on.
- Type
/to add a Linear scale question and a Long answer below it. Use conditional logic to show the follow-up only when the score is low. - Add a hidden field for the campaign or customer segment and pass it in the link.
- In Settings, add a progress bar, a redirect to a thank-you page, and, if the survey should close, a date or a response limit.
- Share the public link, with a preview image, title and description set on the Share tab.
- Watch the results come in under Insights.
Analysis you get without exporting
- Insights: charts per question, averages, and an NPS score.
- Drop-off analytics: the question where people quit, plus visit analytics.
- Partial submissions: people who leave halfway show up as incomplete rows. You keep their answers.
- AI triage: each submission gets a category, a priority (low, normal, high or urgent), a sentiment, a one-to-two-sentence summary and a suggested reply, on up to 10,000 submissions a month. See AI form triage.
- Exports: CSV, JSON and XLSX, plus Google Sheets, Notion, Airtable, Slack, Zapier, Make and webhooks.
Routing rules can send urgent or negative replies to up to five email addresses or a Slack incoming webhook, so a bad score reaches a person within minutes.
Where Google Forms is still the better pick
Google Forms is free with a Google account and is simple enough for an internal pulse check. If you need a vendor with years of track record for a procurement process, a newer product is a harder sell: Qwenvo launched in October 2026, so it has few reviews, and it is hosted in the United States.
How long should a survey be?
Shorter surveys get finished. There is no magic number, so use your own data instead of a rule of thumb. Publish a first version, wait for a few dozen answers, then open drop-off analytics. The question where most people stop is the one to cut, reword or move later. Partial submissions keep the answers people gave before they left, so even an abandoned survey still teaches you something.
Order matters too. Put the easy, closed questions first, then the matrix or ranking questions, and leave the open Long answer for the end, when the person is already invested. If a question only applies to some respondents, hide it with conditional logic instead of asking everyone and telling them to skip it.
Finally, decide before you send what you will do with each answer. A question with no action attached is a question to delete.
Questions people ask
Is there an unlimited free survey maker?
Qwenvo has unlimited forms and submissions with no paid plan. See the fair use policy for the very high volumes where we would contact you.
Can I see how many people abandon my survey?
Yes. Drop-off analytics show the question where people stop, and partial submissions keep the answers they did give. Also read about partial submissions.
Can I make the survey anonymous?
A form only collects the fields you add. Leave out name and email blocks, and use data retention to delete submissions after a number of days. Remember that hidden fields and respondent country add data you may not want in an anonymous survey.
Every feature, $0, no card.
