To make a quiz without Google Forms, use a builder that scores answers and branches by result. Qwenvo scores quizzes, adds up points with calculated fields and shows each person a result page that depends on their score. It is free, and quiz takers need no account.
What Google Forms does well, and what it doesn't do
Google Forms has a quiz mode with grading, and it is free with a Google account. That is genuinely useful for a classroom test. The limits show when a quiz is public. Design and branding are limited, file uploads need a Google sign-in, and there is no payment option if the quiz is a paid course test.
How scoring works on Qwenvo
Three features do the work.
- Quizzes with scoring: mark the right answers so each response gets a score.
- Calculated fields: add points up into a running total you can show or test.
- Conditional logic: show a block, hide it, or jump to a page based on the total. For example, a low score jumps to a retry page and a high score jumps to a pass page.
Start from a template so the structure is already there: quiz knowledge check for a graded test, online trivia quiz for events, or personality quiz for result types.
Build a 10-question quiz step by step
- Create a free account and open a new form, or open the quiz knowledge check template and see how its scoring is set up.
- Type the quiz title. Press
/and add Multiple choice for each question. - Add a Short answer at the top for the name and an Email block if you want to send results.
- Mark the correct answers and add a Calculated field that totals the score.
- Add a New page block, then a Thank-you page for each outcome. Use conditional logic (from a question's menu, Add conditional logic) to jump to the right one by score.
- In Settings, turn on prevent duplicate submissions and a progress bar, and set the form to close on a date if the quiz runs in a window.
- Share the link or embed the quiz with Standard, Popup or Full page.
Ideas beyond the classroom test
- A lead magnet. Ask five questions, then send people to a page matched to their result. Use a hidden field to record the ad campaign they came from.
- A certification check. Use the Email block and respondent email verification, and have the confirmation email go to the taker.
- A paid course gate. Put a Payment block at the start, using your own Stripe account, and the quiz after it.
- A staff safety quiz. Use data retention to delete answers after a set number of days.
Reading the results
The Submissions table shows each attempt. Insights shows charts and averages per question, which helps you spot a question that most people get wrong. Drop-off analytics show where people leave a long quiz. Export to CSV, JSON or XLSX when you need a gradebook.
Where Google Forms is still the better pick
If you want a classroom quiz graded in a tool your students already log in to, Google Forms' built-in quiz mode is quick and familiar. Qwenvo launched in October 2026, has no mobile app, and its per-submission PDFs cannot draw some scripts or emoji; spreadsheet exports can. For education-specific setups see the guide for teachers.
Writing questions that score well
The tool only scores what you ask. A few habits make quizzes fairer and the data more useful:
- Write one idea per question. If a question tests two things, you cannot tell which one the person missed.
- Keep wrong options believable. Obvious wrong answers turn a quiz into a guessing game.
- Put the easiest questions first so people build momentum, and end with the hardest.
- Use Insights afterwards. If almost everyone misses one question, the question may be unclear, not the people.
Questions people ask
Can I make a quiz free with no limit on takers?
Yes. Qwenvo has unlimited forms and submissions, with a fair use policy that only matters at very high volume.
Can a quiz show different results by score?
Yes. Use a calculated field for the total and conditional logic to jump to the matching page.
Can I put the quiz on my own website?
Yes. Copy an embed code from the Share tab into any site builder that accepts HTML, or serve the form from your own subdomain via custom domains.
Every feature, $0, no card.
