To get form submissions in Slack, open the form's Integrations tab, choose Slack, connect your workspace and pick a channel. For a quieter feed, use AI triage routing to send only urgent or chosen-category submissions to a Slack incoming webhook.
Option 1: The Slack integration
- Open the form and go to the Integrations tab.
- Choose Slack and connect your workspace.
- Follow the prompts to pick the channel where new submissions are posted. Create a dedicated channel such as #form-leads first, so it does not clutter a busy one.
- Submit a test response on the live form and confirm it shows up in the channel.
- Tell the channel members what the new messages are and who handles them.
Option 2: Route only what matters with AI triage
If every submission in Slack would be noise, let Qwenvo read them first. Triage gives each submission a category, a priority (low, normal, high or urgent), sentiment, a short summary and a suggested reply. Routing rules then send only the matching ones to Slack.
- In Slack, create an incoming webhook for the channel you want and copy its URL.
- In Qwenvo, open the form's Settings and find the AI triage section, Triage submissions with AI. Switch it on.
- Add a routing rule that matches the priorities or categories you care about, such as urgent bug reports.
- Paste the Slack incoming webhook URL as the destination. A rule can also email up to five addresses.
- Submit a test that should match and check the channel.
Triage covers up to 10,000 submissions a month per account, free. The read-through is in AI form triage.
What to route where
- Sales leads from a demo request form to the sales channel.
- Urgent support from a support ticket form to the support on-call channel.
- Bug reports to engineering, with the screenshot attached through a file upload.
- Everything else to email or a spreadsheet, not Slack.
Make Slack alerts useful
- Keep the form short. The fewer fields, the more readable the message.
- Ask for the one thing that sets priority. A 'How urgent is this?' choice helps your rules and your team.
- Name an owner. An alert that nobody owns gets ignored.
- Add a hidden field for the page or campaign, so the message says where it came from.
- Review the channel monthly and tighten or loosen the rules.
Other chat tools and custom routes
Discord and Linear are also available on the Integrations tab. For anything else, send a signed webhook or use Zapier or Make.
Mistakes to avoid
- Posting to a busy channel. People will mute it.
- Skipping the test. Make sure the right channel receives it.
- Treating Slack as the record. Messages scroll away; the Submissions table is your record.
- Putting private data in a public channel. Check who can read it before you route sensitive forms.
One honest limit: AI triage is capped at 10,000 submissions a month per account, and a suggested reply is a draft, not a decision. A person should read anything important.
An example routing plan
A small business with one contact form might set it up like this:
- Urgent priority: Slack channel #urgent, plus an email to the owner.
- Category sales lead: email to the sales inbox.
- Category support: a Slack channel for the support team.
- Everything else: stays in Submissions for the weekly review.
Start with one rule, watch it for a week, then add another. It is easier to loosen a quiet channel than to rescue a noisy one.
Write the message people will see
A Slack alert is only as clear as the form behind it. Give questions short, plain titles, because they appear next to the answers. Put the most useful question first, such as what the person needs. If you use triage, the one-to-two-sentence summary does the reading for you, and the suggested reply gives whoever picks it up a starting point to edit before they answer the person.
Questions people ask
How do I send form responses to a Slack channel?
Use the Slack integration for every submission, or triage routing with a Slack incoming webhook for selected ones.
Can I post only urgent submissions?
Yes. Add a routing rule that matches the urgent priority.
Does it cost anything?
No. Both routes are free. Tally's AI builds forms but does not read submissions on its own; see Qwenvo vs Tally.
Can I email as well?
Yes. Set notifications in form settings, or add emails to a routing rule.
