Typeform is better for design and Google Forms is better for price: it is free with a Google account. Typeform's one-question-at-a-time forms look polished but its paid plans cap responses. A third option, Qwenvo, is free, unlimited and can take payments.
Side by side
Everything below comes from each vendor's own pages, checked on 2026-10-29. Where a number is missing, the vendor does not state it.
- Price. Typeform: a free plan with limited responses (no number stated), then Basic $39 a month ($28 yearly), Plus $79 ($56 yearly), Business $129 ($91 yearly). Google Forms: free with a Google account. Qwenvo: $0 with no paid plans.
- Response limits. Typeform: 100, 1,000 and 10,000 responses a month on Basic, Plus and Business. Qwenvo: unlimited, under a fair use policy.
- Branding. Typeform: removed on Plus and above. Google Forms: limited design and branding. Qwenvo: switch it off in Settings.
- Format. Typeform: one question at a time. Google Forms: a standard form page. Qwenvo: document-style, with optional pages.
- Payments. Google Forms: no built-in payments. Qwenvo: Payment block through your own Stripe account, 0% platform fee. For Typeform, see its pricing page.
- File uploads. Google Forms: respondents must sign in with Google. Qwenvo: up to 1 GB per file, no respondent account.
- Quizzes. Google Forms: quiz mode with grading. Qwenvo: scoring, calculated fields and logic.

Choose Typeform when
- The form is part of your brand, like a high-value application or a product quiz, and the look is the point.
- You need the conversational, one-question-at-a-time format.
- Your volume sits under the response cap of the plan you buy.
Choose Google Forms when
- You and your respondents all have Google accounts.
- It is a quick, internal poll or a graded classroom quiz.
- You do not need payments, a custom look or large uploads from people outside Google.
Choose Qwenvo when
- You want Typeform-level control (design, logic, media) without a response cap or a bill.
- You want Google Forms' price (nothing) but need payments, branding removal or a custom domain.
- You want answers sorted for you: AI triage gives each submission a category, priority, sentiment and summary.

How to test all three in one afternoon
- Pick one real form you use, like a feedback or application form.
- Build it in each tool. On Qwenvo, import a Typeform JSON export, or paste the questions as plain text.
- Send it to three people on their phones and one on a laptop.
- Compare how long it took to build, how it looks, and how easy it is to find the answers.
- Check whether the one feature you need, such as payments or a custom domain, is behind a paywall.
Where the others are still the better pick
Typeform is stronger on pure design, and Google Forms needs no new account for anyone on Google. Qwenvo launched in October 2026, has fewer reviews, is hosted in the United States and has no mobile app.
Hidden costs to watch for
The sticker price is only part of the cost. With Typeform, ask what happens when you pass the response limit of your plan, and whether the feature you need sits on a higher plan. With Google Forms, ask what it costs you in lost conversions when respondents hit a Google sign-in for uploads, or when a customer-facing form looks like a generic Google form. With any tool, count the time you spend on workarounds: pasting payment links, matching payments to answers by hand, or copying responses into a spreadsheet.
A cheap tool that needs three workarounds can cost more than a free tool that does the job in one place.
Questions people ask
Is Typeform better than Google Forms?
For design, yes. For price, no. Google Forms is free with a Google account; Typeform's free plan limits responses and paid plans start at a monthly fee.
Is Google Forms good enough for a business?
For internal use, usually. For customer-facing forms, the limited design and branding, the lack of payments and the Google sign-in for uploads are the usual reasons to move.
Can I start free and not hit a wall?
On Qwenvo there is no wall because there are no paid tiers. See a completely free form builder for what is included.
