Tally vs Typeform vs Qwenvo: price, design and limits

By the Qwenvo team · · 3 min read

Typeform charges for response volume, Tally charges for features, and Qwenvo charges for neither. Typeform's paid plans start at $39 a month for 100 responses a month. Tally gives unlimited submissions free and holds back the badge, domains and teammates for Pro at $29 a month. Qwenvo is $0.

How each tool is priced

  • Typeform: a free plan with a limited number of responses (the number is not stated on its page). Basic is $39 a month ($28 a month yearly) for 100 responses a month and one user. Plus is $79 a month ($56 yearly) for 1,000 responses and removes branding. Business is $129 a month ($91 yearly) for 10,000 responses.
  • Tally: Free is unlimited forms and submissions. Pro is $29 a month ($290 a year). Business is $89 a month ($890 a year).
  • Qwenvo: $0, with every feature on for every account and a fair use policy for very high volume.

The model matters. On Typeform, a successful campaign pushes you into a bigger plan. On Tally, it does not, but wanting the form to look like yours does. On Qwenvo neither happens.

The format difference

Typeform shows one question at a time, like a conversation. It is its signature, and it is strongest on design. Tally and Qwenvo use a document-style editor: you type / to add blocks, and respondents see a page of questions.

On Qwenvo you can still get a stepped feel. Insert a New page block (type /page) between questions, turn on the progress bar in Settings, and respondents move through one page at a time. There is no single-question layout switch.

Moving a Typeform to Qwenvo

Qwenvo imports a Typeform JSON export, so the move is shorter than from most tools.

  1. In Typeform, get your form's definition as a JSON export.
  2. In Qwenvo, click New form, then Import form, and paste the JSON.
  3. Check each question type, the logic and the thank-you page.
  4. Style it in the Customize panel and turn off Qwenvo branding in Settings.

The importer is described in import a form. There is no Tally or Google Forms importer; for those, paste the questions as text or Markdown.

Where Typeform is the better pick

Typeform is the best-known conversational format and is strongest on design. If a brand-heavy, one-question-at-a-time experience is the product (a high-stakes lead form, for example) and you have the budget, it is a fair choice. Check Typeform's pricing page for the current numbers, since plans change.

Which to pick

  • Under 100 responses a month, and you love the look: Typeform's free plan may do, within its response limit.
  • Lots of responses, simple branding needs: Tally Free.
  • Lots of responses, and you need branding, domain, teammates or analytics: Qwenvo, or Tally Pro if you prefer Tally.

A practical test

Build the same eight-question form in each tool you are considering. Time yourself. Then send the link to three people and ask what they noticed.

  • Did the form feel quick or slow?
  • Could they find their way back to an earlier answer?
  • Did the page look like your brand, or like the tool's?
  • What did you have to pay for to get it there?

On Qwenvo the last answer is always nothing. Stepped pages and a progress bar are covered in the multi-page forms guide, and the cost side of the story is in Tally pricing explained.

What you give up by switching

Be realistic about the trade. You lose the one-question-at-a-time format and Typeform's design polish. You keep logic, payments, file uploads and hidden fields. If your current Typeform has a long tail of integrations, list them first and confirm that Qwenvo's Integrations tab covers each one, or that Zapier, Make or a webhook can bridge the gap.
