Qwenvo

A free SurveyMonkey alternative that doesn't cap your answers

By the Qwenvo team · · 3 min read

A good free SurveyMonkey alternative is Qwenvo. SurveyMonkey's free plan limits responses and features, so serious surveys push you to a paid plan. Qwenvo has no paid plans, no cap on submissions, and includes charts, NPS, drop-off analytics and AI sorting of open answers.

What to check before you pay SurveyMonkey

We have not verified SurveyMonkey's current prices or limits, so we will not quote any. What is generally true is that its free plan limits responses and features. Open its pricing page and write down three things: how many responses you can collect, which question types and analysis are locked, and whether results can be exported. Those three decide whether the free plan covers you.

What a survey needs, and how Qwenvo covers it

  • Question types: Multiple choice, Checkboxes, Dropdown, Multi-select, Linear scale, Rating, Matrix, Ranking, Number, Long answer and Date.
  • Skip logic: show or hide questions and jump to pages, so each respondent sees only what applies.
  • Piping: type @ to reuse an earlier answer in a later question.
  • Reports: Insights has charts, averages and NPS. The Submissions table exports to CSV, JSON and XLSX.
  • Completion tracking: visit analytics, drop-off analytics, and partial submissions as incomplete rows.
  • Open-ended answers: AI triage gives each response a category, a sentiment and a summary.
  • Distribution: a public link, a link preview, embeds, a popup, or a custom domain.

Build and send a survey

  1. Create a free account.
  2. Start from the market research survey, employee satisfaction survey or product feedback survey, or describe it to the AI.
  3. Delete everything you won't use. Shorter surveys get finished.
  4. Add a hidden field such as source so you can compare audiences without asking.
  5. In Settings, add a progress bar, set a close date, turn on prevent duplicate submissions, and pick a language (45+ available, including right-to-left).
  6. Send the link by email, post it, or embed it. Then open Insights.

Turn open answers into a to-do list

Open-text answers are where surveys get stuck. With AI triage on, each submission gets a category, a priority (low, normal, high or urgent), a sentiment, a one-to-two-sentence summary and a suggested reply. Filter for high-priority or negative responses first. Routing rules can send urgent ones to up to five email addresses or to a Slack incoming webhook. It covers up to 10,000 submissions a month per account, and model cost is about $0.22 per 1,000 submissions in our measurements.

Where SurveyMonkey is still the better pick

SurveyMonkey is an established name in surveys, and some organisations buy it by default for procurement reasons. Qwenvo launched in October 2026, so it has few reviews, it is hosted in the United States, and it does not recruit respondents for you. If you need an incumbent vendor, that is a fair reason to choose it.

Will this stay free? If paid plans are ever introduced, everything you already use stays available and you will be told well in advance. Today there is no plan to pick and no card on file.

How to keep a free survey tool honest

Any survey tool will happily collect bad data. A few habits matter more than the tool:

  • Ask one thing per question. "How was the price and the service?" gets a muddy answer.
  • Use the same scale throughout. Mixing 1-5 and 0-10 scales confuses people and spoils comparisons.
  • Test on a phone. Most people will answer there.
  • Close the survey. Set a close date or a response limit so the results do not change after you report them.
  • Prevent duplicates in Settings when each person should answer once.

Then read the results by segment, not just in total. A hidden field such as source lets you compare, for example, customers who came from email with customers who came from your website.

Finally, keep a copy. Export the results to CSV, JSON or XLSX when the survey closes and store the file with your report, so the numbers you quoted can always be traced back to the source data.
