Jotform is the bigger, heavier tool: a huge template library, a mobile app, many payment processors and HIPAA features on paid plans. Tally is the lighter one, with a document-style editor and unlimited free submissions. Qwenvo follows Tally's style with no paid plans. Pick by what you cannot do without.
What each tool is
- Jotform: a free Starter plan with form and submission limits and Jotform branding. Paid Bronze, Silver and Gold plans remove the branding. It lists HIPAA features on paid plans, a mobile app, Stripe, PayPal and many other processors, a huge template library, and Claude and ChatGPT apps plus an MCP server. For exact limits and prices, check Jotform's pricing page.
- Tally: unlimited forms and submissions on Free, with logic, calculations, payments, signatures and uploads up to 10 MB. Pro ($29 a month) unlocks branding removal, domains, teammates and more. No mobile app.
- Qwenvo: $0, every feature on. A document-style editor like Tally's, 180+ free templates, Stripe payments at 0% platform fee, and no HIPAA offering.
Where Jotform is better, honestly
Three reasons to choose Jotform over the other two are worth stating plainly:
- Health data. Jotform lists HIPAA features on its paid plans. Qwenvo has no HIPAA offering, and you should not put protected health information in a Qwenvo form. Tally is hosted in Europe with a GDPR focus; ask Tally about health data before you collect any.
- A mobile app. Jotform has one. Tally and Qwenvo do not.
- Payment methods. Jotform supports PayPal and many processors besides Stripe. Qwenvo is Stripe only.
If any one of those is a hard requirement, the rest of this comparison does not matter.
Where Qwenvo and Tally are the lighter choice
- The editor. Type
/to add a block, then keep typing. The whole form is one page you read top to bottom. - Free usage. Jotform's free plan has limits and Jotform branding. Tally's free plan has unlimited submissions. Qwenvo has no paid plans at all.
- Branding. Jotform's paid plans remove it. Tally's Pro removes it. On Qwenvo it is one toggle in Settings.
The same form, built on Qwenvo
A quick way to judge the difference is to rebuild a form you already have.
- Sign up and click New form.
- Use Import form to paste your questions as plain text or Markdown, or take the support ticket template as a base.
- Add logic from a question's menu with Add conditional logic.
- Customize colours, fonts and layout, then switch off Qwenvo branding in Settings.
- Publish, and send the link or an embed from the Share tab.
Choosing in one minute
- Health data or HIPAA: Jotform.
- Mobile app, PayPal, a huge template list: Jotform.
- European hosting and a mature community: Tally.
- Everything free, with branding off and teammates on: Qwenvo.
How to decide if you need HIPAA features
Ask one question: will the form collect health information that identifies a person? If yes, use a tool that offers the agreements your compliance lead requires, and have that person review the setup. Jotform lists HIPAA features on its paid plans. If no (event RSVPs, contact forms, feedback surveys), the lighter free builders are a fine fit.
The same logic applies to other regulated data. A free builder is not a reason to skip the policy question. Read the Qwenvo vs Tally page and the privacy page of any tool before you collect sensitive answers.
A note on templates
Jotform's huge template library is a real advantage if you want something very specific. Qwenvo has 180+ free templates, each fully editable once copied, which covers most common cases such as contact, intake, registration and feedback forms. Browse the template gallery and see whether yours is there before you decide that library size matters to you.
