Tally does not take a cut of your payments. Its own help page says there is no fee on top of Stripe, so you pay Stripe's normal processing fee and nothing extra to Tally. The costs people call "fees" are really paywalled features. Here is how to tell the two apart.
Two different kinds of cost
- Transaction fees: a percentage a form builder takes from each payment. Tally lists none beyond Stripe's. Qwenvo's platform fee is 0%.
- Plan fees: what you pay monthly or yearly to unlock features. This is where Tally charges, through Pro and Business.
Stripe's own fee applies on both tools, because the money moves through your own Stripe account. For current rates, see Stripe's pricing page. Neither tool adds to it.
Where Tally's costs actually appear
If you collect payments on Tally's free plan, nothing extra is taken. Then you try to ship the form. Taking the badge off, using a custom domain, adding a teammate or sending emails from your own domain each needs Pro, $29 a month or $290 a year. Data retention and email verification need Business, $89 a month or $890 a year.

How Qwenvo handles payments
Qwenvo has a Payment block. It works through your own Stripe account, supports many currencies, and Qwenvo takes 0%. You pay Stripe's fee and nothing else.
- Open or create a form and type
/on a new line. - Pick Payment and connect your Stripe account when asked.
- Set the price: type an amount, or pick an earlier number or Calculated field when the total depends on the answers. The order form template is a good starting point.
- Publish and share. The respondent pays when they submit.
The extras you would pay Tally for are free here: no Qwenvo badge, your own domain, confirmation emails to respondents and teammates in the workspace.
Where others are the better pick
Qwenvo supports Stripe only. If you must take PayPal or another processor on the form itself, Jotform lists PayPal and many processors, and that is a real reason to pick it. Check Jotform's pricing page for what each plan includes.
A short checklist before you build a paid form
- Do you have a Stripe account where you sell from?
- Does the form need a custom domain or no badge? Price that in, because on Tally it moves you to Pro.
- Will you send a receipt or confirmation? On Qwenvo, turn on confirmation emails to respondents in Settings.
- Do you need a signature as well? It is a block on both tools.
How to compare two payment form builders honestly
Ignore the headline and check five things:
- Platform fee. A percentage on every sale. Qwenvo's is 0%, and Tally lists none on top of Stripe.
- Plan price to ship the form. What you must subscribe to for the badge, domain and teammates your project needs.
- Processors. Stripe only, or more.
- Where the money lands. On both tools it goes through your own Stripe account.
- What happens when you grow. Some builders charge more as responses rise. Qwenvo and Tally Free count no responses.
Run the same sums for any builder you are weighing. For a wider look at what stays free, read a form builder with no paid plans and the Qwenvo vs Tally comparison.
Questions people ask
Does Tally charge a transaction fee?
Tally says it adds no fee on top of Stripe. Stripe's own fee still applies.
Does Qwenvo take a percentage of payments?
No. The Qwenvo platform fee is 0%. Stripe's own fee applies.
Can I take PayPal on Qwenvo?
No. Stripe is the only payment provider.
Why do some people say Tally has hidden fees?
Usually because the form works, then a needed feature, such as the badge or a domain, turns out to be on a paid plan. It is on the pricing page, but easy to reach late.
Will this stay free? If paid plans are ever introduced, everything you already use stays available and you will be told well in advance. Today there is no plan to pick and no card on file.
