Qwenvo is a SurveyMonkey alternative with full survey logic for $0. It can show or hide a question, jump to a page, reuse an earlier answer with @, run calculations and scoring, and use hidden fields. No logic is held back on a paid tier, because there are no paid tiers.
The four logic tools you actually use
- Show or hide. A question appears only when an earlier answer matches.
- Jump to page. Send people to a different page based on an answer. Good for screening.
- Answer piping. Type
@in a question and pick an earlier answer to reuse it. - Calculated fields. Add prices or points, then show or test the result.
You add logic with the Conditional logic block, or with Add conditional logic from any question's menu. The conditional logic guide walks through the rule builder.
Four examples to copy
1. A follow-up for unhappy customers
Ask a Linear scale from 0 to 10. Add a rule: if the score is low, show a Long answer reading "What went wrong?". Happy customers never see it. Start from the CSAT survey.
2. A screener that ends early
Ask "Do you buy this product?" with a Multiple choice. If the answer is no, jump to the Thank-you page. If yes, continue to the full survey. This keeps wrong-fit answers out of your data. The market research survey shows the structure.
3. Personalised wording
Ask for a name and the product used. Later, write a question that pipes both back in with @, such as "How was the product for you, name?" with each @ pointing at the earlier answer. Respondents feel the survey was written for them.
4. Scores and result pages
Give each answer in a short quiz a point value, total them in a calculated field, and jump to the result page that matches. The personality quiz is a working model.
Hidden fields and settings that support logic
- Hidden fields capture a value from the link, like
?plan=trial, so you can segment answers. See hidden fields. - Multi-page forms keep long surveys readable; see multi-page forms.
- Progress bar and partial submissions show how far people got.
Test your logic before you send
- Open the form from its share link and answer it as each type of respondent.
- Check every branch ends at a Thank-you page and nobody lands on a dead end.
- Try the oddest answer combination you can imagine.
- Send it to three colleagues and read their Submissions rows.
- After a week, open drop-off analytics to see if any branch loses people.
A note on SurveyMonkey
We have not verified SurveyMonkey's current feature list or which plan includes which logic, so we make no claims about it. Check its pricing page for what each plan includes before you compare.
Where others are still the better pick
There is no importer for rules from other tools, so you rebuild branching by hand. If you have a very large survey with years of existing logic elsewhere, budget time to rebuild it. Qwenvo launched in October 2026. Also, if two people edit one form at once, the last save wins.
Logic mistakes that quietly ruin surveys
- Dead ends. A branch that has no next page leaves people stuck. Always end a branch on a Thank-you page or rejoin the main path.
- Hiding a required question. If a hidden question was required, make sure the hiding rule and the requirement cannot conflict.
- Too many branches. If you cannot sketch the survey on one sheet of paper, simplify it. Complex trees are hard to test and hard to analyse.
- Piping into the wrong place. Check that the earlier answer exists on every path that reaches the question where you reuse it.
A good habit is to draw the paths on paper first, one line per respondent type, then build exactly that.
Questions people ask
Is there free skip logic in a survey tool?

Can a survey calculate a score?
Yes, with calculated fields and quizzes with scoring.
Can I reuse an earlier answer in a later question?
Yes. Type @ and pick it. Answer piping is built into the editor.
